HONG KONG Impressions
a presentation by a dutch artist - Doet Boersma
Doet Boersma steps into Asia the first time, and is having an inspiring time as an artist-in-residence @ aco_air in Hong Kong. she converted all her impressions, meetings and feelings about HK into drawings on packaging papers dumped by offices around her studio @ Fotanian, and also on rice papers and canvases. they show the atmosphere, intimacy and loneliness of being a passer-by in HK.
in the talk, she will explain how she transformed her impressions into the artworks. and she will explain the differences between her former experiences as an artist-in-residence in Ireland and here in Hong Kong.

HONG KONG POEMS II
an installation by Poland artist - Karolina Anna Matea
back in march, we got an enthusiastic email from a Polish girl, who had just returned home from an inspiring short trip in HK. Shortly after, in April, she had an exhibition in Poland of her “Hong Kong Poems” project, which reflected her very HK experience. Her name is Karolina Matea.
now, Karolina is “back” as a month long artist-in-residence @ aco_air. the installation “Hong Kong Poems II” will further reflect her HK inspiration. with the use of traditional Chinese materials like calligraphy paper, Chinese ink, red thread used for chinese knots, she will create a piece that shows her perception of the city, the paths she made during her monthly stay here as well as express her feelings at this stage of her life. the installation will also contain elements of her main field of work in arts - jewellery.
you are invited to come and experience HK in a “Polish” way!
